Richland Rum, a product of the Richland Distilling Company, began in 1999 and has evolved into one of the world’s most renowned sipping rums. It is also produced by the oldest active distillery in the state of Georgia. The Richland Rum Distillery is located in the heart of Richland, Georgia, and occupies numerous historic buildings that have been converted into a full production facility. The distillery includes a barrel house with an inventory of more than 1,000 new American white oak barrels, as well as a vintage tasting room and gift shop. Richland Rum is made from sugarcane grown on the farm at Richland Estate, which is also part of the Richland Distilling Company. Because every phase of the rum-making process is conducted under the same ownership, Richland Rum is designated as a “single-estate” rum and is the only such rum in the continental United States.
