Social Media Collaboration Policy – VisitColumbusGA

VisitColumbusGA’s role as the Destination Marketing Organization for Columbus, Georgia is an essential driver of tourism and economic development.

Our social media pages are digital marketing assets whose purpose is to share recommendations, attractions, travel ideas, and information concerning things to do in Columbus, Georgia, and the region.

As such, VisitColumbusGA accepts brand collaborations at the leadership’s discretion and reserves the right to decline any offer that does not further the mission of the organization or Columbus, Georgia as a destination for tourists of all ages.

VisitColumbusGA reserves the right to intervene at its discretion from comments or posts containing. Factors for collaboration include but are not limited to:

  • Content must be on-brand and fall within VisitColumbusGA’s mission, values, and professional standards. Content may not appear alongside any other content that goes against VisitColumbusGA’s brand standards or status as a quasi-governmental entity. For example: VisitColumbusGA will not accept brand collaborations from brands featuring crime, drugs, violence, and/or anything presenting the city of Columbus, Georgia in a negative connotation on their respective accounts.
  • Content must be limited to spreading positive awareness of an attraction, event, initiative or asset in Columbus, Georgia.
  • Frequency of brand collaborations are limited and decided on a case-by-case basis.
  • Collaborations MUST fall within VisitColumbusGA’s normal geographic region or be pre- approved for a specific purpose, such as working with travel writers, participating in national or regional initiatives for tourism, and/or working with specific conventions/ tours.
  • Profane, obscene, vulgar, sexual, or other inappropriate content;
  • Divisive or hateful content perpetuating discrimination;
  • Attacks on any individual or group;
  • Spam or spam-like content, which includes linking to external sites;
  • Bullying or efforts to antagonize others by deliberately posting inflammatory, false, irrelevant, or offensive comments or other disruptive content;
  • Comments that are plainly off the intended topic of discussion or the subject of a post; or
  • Any personal contact information.

When collaborating by creating content that includes words, photos, videos, or links to VisitColumbusGA’s social media pages, you are assuming full responsibility for the content. You agree that the content is your own and that you will hold VisitColumbusGA harmless from all damages or liabilities stemming from that content.

Violators of this policy may have their content removed from the social media platform. Continued or egregious violations of this policy may prompt further restriction on the ability to comment on VisitColumbusGA’s social media platforms without prior warning or notice.
