In 1863, Alexander Claringdon Chancellor fled his mansion in Virginia after it was nearly destroyed during the Civil War Battle of Chancellorsville. He relocated to Columbus, Georgia, and began working at a dry goods store in late May 1863. The store has since evolved into Chancellor’s and was purchased by Roger Stinson in 2007. Today, Chancellor’s carries a wide range of men’s clothing, including casual shirts and shorts, sport coats, hunting gear, and formal wear. Guests can shop a variety of brands and styles to ensure they look their best for every occasion.
