Columbus, GA—RiverCenter invites jazz lovers to join guest speaker Jan Hyatt for a special insiders view of the music from A Charlie Brown Christmas on Monday, December 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the Studio Theater. Hyatt, a jazz musician and founder of the Columbus Jazz Society, will lead a behind-the-scenes look at Vince Guaraldi’s iconic soundtrack, examining why it was selected and imagining how the score might have sounded in the hands of different jazz composers. Attendees can enjoy coffee and dessert. Admission is free.
The talk will be immediately followed at 6:30 p.m. by A Charlie Brown Christmas Live!, part of the Synovus Center Stage Series, presented together with the Columbus Jazz Society with additional grant funding from the CCAA and the CCVB.
Tickets for A Charlie Brown Christmas Live! are on sale now (with half-priced tickets for children under 12 years of age) and can be purchased at RiverCenter’s box office Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m., by phone at 706-256-3612, and online at www.rivercenter.org.
