Columbus, GA—The internationally acclaimed Choir of Clare College, Cambridge will present a concert of Christmas music on Saturday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Since its founding as a mixed voice choir in 1972, the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge has gained an international reputation as one of the world’s leading university choirs, keeping an active recording, broadcasting and performing schedule. The Choir has produced an impressive discography of more than forty recordings. Their recordings under director Graham Ross on the Harmonia Mundi label have been released to great critical acclaim, garnering multiple international nominations and awards.

For the concert, the choir will present Of One That Is So Fair And Bright, a sumptuous Christmas program in praise of the Virgin Mary and the coming of the light. Music for the performance ranges from Renaissance masterpieces, including Tallis’ ‘Videte miraculum’ and the Praetorius ‘Christmas Magnificat,’ to much-loved seasonal works from 20th century composers Benjamin Britten and John Rutter. The choir will also perform a few highly catchy arrangements, sure to put audiences in a festive mood!
