For more distinctive settings, venues like the 115-year-old Bibb Mill Event Center offer seven unique spaces filled with historic character, while Columbus State University’s Cunningham Conference Centerprovides six seminar rooms and four computer training labs ideal for professional development. Also at Columbus State University, the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center features a 3,312-square-foot Founders Hall alongside three conference rooms for smaller gatherings.

Groups seeking memorable, one-of-a-kind environments can host events at cultural attractions such as the National Civil War Naval Museum at Port Columbus, which offers gallery access and meeting space for up to 50 guests, or the Coca-Cola Space Science Center, featuring classrooms, an exhibit gallery for up to 200 attendees, and the Omnisphere Planetarium with seating for 120. The Columbus Museum provides additional options with a large galleria, community room, and a 300-seat theater. Official department personnel have expertise in serving as liaisons between meeting planners and marketing partners, assisting with site and accommodation selection, event promotion, special-event and theme-party planning, on-site registration services, itinerary development, and more. Locally owned and operated, City Mills Hotel is a favorite among tourists and locals, opening in 2021 as Columbus’ first luxury boutique hotel. City Mills was recognized in ConventionSouth’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards for the state of Georgia and named one of the ‘6 New Southeastern Hotels Worth a Special Trip’ by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution during the same year.
