The first Focus Film Columbus GA event will be held on December 11, 2019 at the River Center for the Performing Arts beginning at 3:00 PM.

The meeting will be facilitated by VisitColumbusGA’s Film Commission. The purpose of the meeting is to gather those interested in the entertainment industry in one place to hear about Columbus’ film and entertainment business and learn from industry experts.

“As a community, we have enjoyed incredible success in 2019 landing productions and being considered for many others,” said Peter Bowden, President and CEO of VisitColumbusGA and the Columbus Film Commission. “Focus Film Columbus is our way of educating and communicating activity to those with a stake or interest in film in the region.”

The event is for local government leaders, business owners, and industry professionals. Bowden continued, “Focus Film Columbus is a new format for the Film Commission’s regular meetings; this will be a quarterly networking and education event that the community is invited to attend. We are launching a companion web site that will also be a reference point for those in and outside the area to stay updated on happenings in Columbus as it relates to the film industry.”
