Plan the Ultimate Guys’ Weekend in Columbus, GA

Looking to plan an epic guys' trip that combines outdoor adventure, great eats, cold brews, and just the right amount of downtime? Columbus, Georgia, has everything you need for a weekend that your crew will be talking about long after the group chat dies down. Whether you're bonding over burgers, battling the rapids, or catching up over a game, we've got the blueprint for your best trip yet.

Day 1: Arrival & Kickoff

Check In & Kick Back

Start by checking into one of our downtown hotels with walkable access to some of the most popular things in town—Hotel Indigo and AC Hotel Columbus Downtown are both popular picks for their sleek style and riverfront views.

Fuel Up at Saltcellar or Minnie’s Restaurant

Once bags are dropped, it's time to eat. If you're in the mood for elevated Southern fare, hit up saltcellar. Or, if your crew is craving some down-home comfort food, head to Minnie’s Uptown Restaurant in Uptown Columbus. This beloved local joint is famous for its “meat and three” and our best advice is to never skip dessert!

Grab a Pint & Catch the Game

After some grub, head to Scofflaw Brewery at MidCity Yards for some craft beers, laid-back vibes, and plenty of TVs to keep up with the game.

If you’d like another great local option, drive just up the road to Chattabrewchee Southern Brewhouse. Bonus: Chattabrewchee has live music on weekends, so expect some fun!

Want to watch a game live? Check to see if any of Columbus’ sports teams are playing and go cheer on the Columbus Clingstones, Columbus RiverDragons, or the Columbus Lions!

Day 2: Go Big or Go Home

Whitewater Rafting on the Chattahoochee

Rise, shine, and suit up. Columbus, Georgia, is home to the longest urban whitewater course in the world. Rated a top travel destination by USA Today Travel, this wild ride is an ideal way to make memories together. Whether you're looking for Class V thrills or something a little tamer, Whitewater Express has the gear and the guides to make your trip unforgettable.

If your adventure meter isn’t quite maxed out, opt for another few hours of outdoor fun! The Blue Heron Zip Line and ropes course is a great way to do some high-level bonding with your crew if you like to experience life to the fullest together.  high-level bonding with your crew if you like to experience life to the fullest together.

Post-Rafting Refuel at Banks Food Hall

BANKS Food Hall is the perfect place for the squad to spread out and refuel after a morning on the river. Burgers, tacos, chicken and waffles—they’ve got it all. This popular joint is guaranteed to match every traveler’s tastebud, and yes, they’ve got beer! got beer!

Afternoon Chill or Challenge?

You Choose.

Dinner at Mabella’s or 11th and Bay Southern Table

When it comes to steak or slow-smoked meat, Columbus doesn’t play. Mabella’s is your go-to for a rich Italian steakhouse vibe, while 11th and Bay Southern Table delivers bold cocktails with an incredible seasonal menu that’s kept the restaurant a local hotspot for years. Try the Pecan Smoked Old Fashioned that’s served smoking in a wooden box!

Night Out at The Loft or Live Music at the RiverCenter (Plus a Speakeasy!)

Cap off the night with drinks, laughs, and live music. Whether it’s an indie band at The Loft or a ticketed show at RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, there’s no shortage of energy after dark in Columbus, Georgia! After the show, head to Columbus’ only speakeasy, 18th Amendment.  Obviously, we can’t tell you exactly how to find it, but what we can suggest is to ask for directions to the only cigar shop on Broadway. We’re sure you’ll find your way from there...

Day 3: Wind Down Like a Pro

Brunch it Up!

There’s no better way to recover from the weekend than with chicken fried steak and mimosas at The Black Cow. Or opt for a light breakfast from Fountain City Coffee if you prefer to ease into the day. Another option? Head to Old Town for brunch at Charred Oak Kitchen. Plan a little extra time to explore this impressive development complete with restaurants and retail, a chapel, and a beautiful residential community.

Explore Fort Benning's National Infantry Museum

History buffs (and anyone who appreciates world-class exhibits) will love the National Infantry Museum—a powerful way to round out the trip before heading home.

One Last Walk Along Broadway

Before you hit the road, take a final stroll along the river, grab local souvenirs from The Peach Shoppe, and say “see you next time” to Columbus, Georgia!

Plan It, Book It, Brag About It

Columbus, Georgia, isn’t just a stop on the map—it’s a destination that delivers. Adventure, eats, brews, and bonding? All in one weekend? You bet. So, rally the crew, block off the calendar, and start planning the ultimate guys’ trip to Columbus today.
