Columbus Ballet

The Columbus Ballet is a non-profit pre-professional youth ballet that provides performance and outreach opportunities for students at the Columbus State University Dance Conservatory which is the only school of classical ballet training in our region with over 200 students.
The Columbus Ballet's mission is to play a leadership role in the arts community of Columbus by providing high quality dance performances to increase the appreciation of this art form in the region as well as to increase exposure of ballet to youth and adult audiences.  In partnership with the CSU Dance Conservatory, we strive to offer professional quality main stage performances that will give virtually every student at the Conservatory an in-depth experience of ballet performance that enhances the instruction received in the classroom.  Currently, the Columbus Ballet performs the traditional annual holiday treat "The Nutcracker" at the River Center with live orchestra.  The addition of live music not only enhances the professionalism of the performance but offers an even richer cultural encounter to participating students and audience members. We have performed The Nutcracker for over 10 years and have established an extremely successful production that has become a holiday tradition in our community.  In conjunction with the Nutcracker we also perform a show only for public school students which we tour. In the spring we participate in ArtBeat with a free performance featuring mixed repertoire to the general public of Columbus.
