Will this week ever end?!  Enough of this work stuff, it’s time to have a little fun!

Is it just me or does it always seem like the week after a long holiday weekend lasts FOREVER?!?!  Well after working hard a whole 5 days in a row, I think it's time to make some much needed fun plans for the weekend.  Have you had a chance to look at the Event Calendar?  It's a really good place to start to help you figure out how to spread the fun around.

Looks like it's also going to be a good weekend if you've got little ones in the household...and you know you want to keep them occupied as much as possible.  In fact, one thing you really should plan to check out on Saturday, kids or no kids, is the annual Insectival at Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center.  And if you're thinking that sounds a lot like something that has to do with insects, creepy crawlies, bugs and the like...you are absolutely right!  It comes complete with Oxbow's Infamous Cricket Spitting Contest, carnivorous plant encounters, honey extraction demonstration, hands-on insect inspections, sweet buggy treats--no kidding--there really is a bug in that lollipop, inflatables and much more!  It's all happening Saturday (July 12) from 10:00am-3:00pm.  Admission: $5 per person, children three and under get in free.  I'm telling you...kids LOVE this one!

And there's plenty more things to do, especially if you're in the mood for movies.  You've got your pick of "The Wizard of Oz" at the Springer Opera House as part of the Crowley Classic Film Series, a Movie on the Lawn at the Columbus Public Library where they'll be showing "Frozen Sing Along," or scoot up to Callaway Gardens for a Movie on the Beach and you'll get to see Despicable Me 2.  There's also Second Saturday fun at the Columbus Museum, "Fame Jr., I Want to Make Magic" at the Liberty Theatre & Cultural Center, and a wonderful production of "Charlotte's Web" at the Springer Opera House.  Is it bad that I'm pretty a grown-up, but I cry everytime I see "Charlotte's Web!"

Go cram as much fun as you can in your 2-day weekend!!
