Three Major Spring Festivals Over the Next Month!

With the warm weather of Spring upon us, Columbus is going all out to enjoy the warm days and cool nights with a trio of outdoor festivals at the river over the next few weeks! Don’t say you don’t have anything to do! Columbus is inviting you down to the river for whitewater fun, great food, music, and tons of outdoor activities for the whole family!

Explore Georgia highlights the upcoming festivals.

First is Paddle South, April 14-15th, at the Eagle and Phenix water tower. The 2017 USA Freestyle Kayak National Championships will be taking place. That will be great, but I’m even more excited about the accompanying beer and barbecue festival with around 20 BBQ vendors putting out their very best offerings!

Nothing says Spring in the South like sitting along the river and eating BBQ! Entrance is $5 for the festival.

Next up is Uptown’s RiverFest on May 5th and 6th. This is one of the biggest events of the year on Columbus and officially kicks off the Whitewater Season. Events will take place all weekend in Woodruff Park and all over the RiverWalk with the kickoff of the Uptown Concert Series and many other activities. And, it is all FREE!

Finally, we have the 10th Annual Frogtown Crawfish Festival happening the next weekend at Woodruff Park along the river on Friday, May 12th, from 5pm to 11pm and Saturday, May 13th, from 9am to 11pm. This festival will include live music, food, inflatables, arts and crafts, vendors, games, and, of course, a massive crawfish boil. Admission is $10, but kids 12 and under get in free!

Spring Festival season in Columbus provides so many opportunities to Go All Out! We hope to see you there!
