It’s the weekend, so how do I find out what’s going on around Columbus?

Well, I'm glad you asked!  Thanks to the wonders of the world wide web, we now have access to just about any kind of information you can think of!  How to make the perfect omelet...there's a video for that.  What are the stats for the teams playing in this Sunday's Super Bowl...there's a site for that.  Can someone help me potty-train my new puppy...there's a blog for that.  You name it, it's out there.  And thankfully, you don't have to look far and wide to find out about things happening closer to home.  It never fails when I'm out and about, someone will always ask how I find out about all the events going on around town and I'm happy to tell them there is one site that's a wealth of info and details.  The Event Calendar (you can find it on visitcolumbusga.com) is a gem when it comes to being a reference of scheduled events.

The really cool thing about this calendar is that you can search by date, or the type of event you're looking for...arts, history, shopping, river fun, concerts...or you can look at particular venues in town to see what's on their line-up.  So, if you want to find out what sort of plans you need to make for this weekend, with just this one calendar you can get more details on things like Lend Me A Tenor at the Springer Opera House, the For the Love of Music Dessert Auction and Side by Side Concert at RiverCenter (there are cakes, pies and desserts at this one people--need I say more?!), the big Super Bowl 5K/10K/1Mile Run in Uptown (to help run off those cakes, pies and desserts), Pianomania at RiverCenter, and even some dinner theatre at Riverside Theatre Complex

And that's just a smattering of what you'll find.  Just make sure you check the Event Calendar often because new items are added constantly and that way you won't miss out on any of the fun!
