Hold onto you hats!  The weekend is here and it’s a doozy!

No rest for the weary this weekend...and that's ok!!  It's one of those weekends where you've got more than enough to choose from.  In fact, the tough part is going to be deciding on where to go, how long to stay, what to do and "how am I going to work this all in during one weekend?!"  Works out pretty well that many folks have Monday off for the holiday because you might need it to recuperate.  Here's a very, very short sample of a few things happening but make sure you take a look at the Event Calendar to get all the details on these and a boat-load of other things taking place.  Need music?  The Big To-Do Concert Series in Uptown cranks up the weekend with a free family concert featuring D.S.O.S. tonight at 7:00pm on Broadway or there's a really cool musical event at RiverCenter Saturday night that features Mark Wood (he used to play electric violin for the Trans Siberian Orchestra) and the Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus.  Tickets for that one is only $20 and that is a real bargain!  Or there's the Drum Circle in the median of Broadway Saturday night beginning at 6:00 or get energized with one of the final performances of A Chorus Line at the Springer Opera House.  And don't forget about Market Days on Broadway Saturday morning--loads of fresh veggies, fruits and flowers this time of year!  For kids, there's a performance of Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse at the Springer Opera House, take the over to The Rock Ranch for their celebration of Official Day of the Cowboy--in fact, I hear from a reliable source that the Lone Ranger will even be there for this one!  Of course, this weekend is also one of the biggest sporting weekends in Columbus with the 80th Annual Tuskegee-Morehouse Football Classic at AJ McClung Memorial Stadium and it looks like a perfect day for football on Saturday!  And if you want to just throw your lawn chair in the car, take the quick trip up to LaGrange, GA to Hills & Dales, then plop yourself down outside in the pecan grove and listen to story tellers weaving their tales.

And this is just the beginning of the list of stuff to do.  The weekend is here, so treat yourself to a little R&R and a little fun...you deserve it!
