Thank you, Mother Nature! Even if you are just teasing us with this glimpse of Fall weather, we'll take it. Something tells me we haven't seen the last 90-degree temp of Summer, but with a bit of a cool down forecast for this weekend, it looks like the perfect time to corral the kids or group-text your friends and make some plans to just get out and enjoy something...anything...this weekend! And you won't be hard-pressed to find things to choose from--just depends on what you're in the mood for.
Try your hand at solving the mystery of who-dun-it at Sherlock's Mystery Dinner Theatre's new production called Murder at the Comic-Con. You can either just sit back and enjoy the show and an incredible dinner or you can actually be a part of the fun and show off some acting skills. Either way, you'll have a great time and get to have a meal that's out-of-this world good. If you can't make it this weekend, not to worry as the production runs thru October 17, but you still need to make reservations as some dates sell out quickly. And speaking of yummy food, swing by the 3rd Annual Latino Festival at South Commons on Saturday (Sept 12) for a day of live music, dancing, Zumba demos, Kids Fun Zone, and of course some good things to nibble on. This one is a great deal because there is no admission!
If it's been a while since you and the kids have made a stop at the Columbus Museum, put it on the schedule for tomorrow so you can pop in for their Second Saturday event. You'll get to learn how to create tapestries, participate in a scavenger hunt, and check out story time at 11 a.m. And this one is also free!
How about a quick roadtrip? Scoot up to Roosevelt's Little White House in Warm Springs because they have a pretty packed weekend with special events going on including a opportunity to meet and talk with Medal of Honor Recipient CSM Bennie Adkins. I can't think of a more appropriate weekend to thank a true American hero for his service.
