Up, Up, and Away:  Pine Mountain Invites Families to Stop in Before and After the 2025 Airport Open House

 

PINE MOUNTAIN, GA (MAY 1, 2025) – Aviation enthusiasts, curious kids, and fun-loving families are invited to take flight at the 2025 Airport Open House, happening Saturday, May 17, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Harris County Pine Mountain Airport, located at 789 Skymeadow Drive, Building 4, Pine Mountain, Ga.

 

Hosted in partnership with local community organizations, this free event offers a day of sky-high fun for all ages. Guests can enjoy complimentary plane rides (waiver required), bounce houses, and helicopter rides available for purchase—plus food hot off the grill, courtesy of the Pine Mountain and Hopewell Volunteer Fire Departments, who will be serving up hamburgers and hotdogs for donations.

 

To participate in a free plane ride, attendees must complete the online waiver available here. For those wanting a bird’s eye view of the Pine Mountain area via helicopter, ticket purchases can be made through the AAHF Store.

 

“The Airport Open House is a beloved tradition that brings neighbors together, introduces kids to the magic of flight, and highlights the spirit of our Pine Mountain community,” said Gloria Boyer, Tourism & Events Director for the Harris County Chamber of Commerce. “It’s a great way for families to enjoy time together while learning more about aviation and the people who make it possible in our community. Many Harris County residents have no knowledge of our county airport, so this event provides a great way for people to learn about the airport.”

With no admission fee and activities that are both educational and entertaining, the Airport Open House is an ideal way for families to kick off their summer adventures.
