FOXIE 105 ANNUAL SPRING BREAK CONCERT & TALENT SHOW-
Davis Broadcasting presents a talent showcase
at The Phenix City Amphitheater located at 508 Dillingham Street
Saturday April 5   Showtime- 6:00 p.m.

Each year, Foxe 105 showcases the tri-city’s best singers, dancers, rappers, and children under 12 competing for a grand prize. This year’s show will feature TOONZ, D’AMBRA RENEE, SMOKEY BEAR, GPS DA SQUAD, B-NO, plus more. CHATTAHOOCHEE GOSPEL JUBILEE ~
The Chattahoochee Valley Southern Gospel Music Association proudly presents the annual Jubilee at Moon Lake- Idle Hour Park on Saturday April 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 6 :00 p.m. The Association provides free kiddie rides, games and fun activities, a food court that is hosted by local churches and great gospel music on the open air stage all day. CONCERT ALERT: Rising Country Star: COLE SWINDELL will be performing on Saturday April 12th at The Phenix City Amphitheater located at 508 Dillingham Street on the banks of the beautiful Chattahoochee River. Gates open at 7:00 p.m. e.s.t.
Opening acts will be: OUTSHYNE, COLE TAYLOR, BEN WELLS and KALEB KING.
Guests are allowed to bring in folding chairs but NO PETS or OUTSIDE COOLERS. Concessions are available, proper i.d. is required to purchase adult beverages. THE WORLD’S WIDEST YARD SALE-
Friday April 18 – Saturday April 19

The World’s Widest Yard Sale stretches across four states and it begins in Phenix City Alabama on Historic U.S. Hi-Way 80. Citizens are invited to set up along the route to sell household items, crafts, food items and other items of interest. The Central Activities Center is along the route and the Senior members will host a yard sale on the front lawn from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday and from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday. The Central Activities Center is located at 1500 14th Street. Look for other locations such as private dwellings, churches and businesses as locations are not predetermined.

St. Patrick’s Easter Sunrise Service at The Amphitheater
Sunday April 20 at The Phenix City Amphitheater
7:00 a.m.
There will be a Sunrise Easter Mass at the Phenix City Amphitheater located at 508 Dillingham Street. Reverend Thom Weiss will officiate. The mass will begin at 7:00 a.m. and St. Patrick’s Church will host an Easter Egg hunt immediately following the service. REVIVAL ON THE RIVER at The Phenix City Amphitheater
Saturday April 25~6:00 to 10:00 p.m.

We will be celebrating unity among the Tri-city area by enjoying a night of music, food and family. Chick-Fil-A will be giving out FREE food for the first 3,000 in attendance. Both Mayor Teresa Tomlinson and Mayor Eddie Lowe plus several other key leaders will speak on the topic of unity.  We will also have music groups from area churches play Contemporary Christian music, gospel music and hymns such as: Eminent Worship, J Harmony 5, Jessie Wilson and Dual Citizens. This event is presented by Teen Challenge which is an organization that serves not only this local area but 96 nations of the world. Teen Challenge’s goal is to put hope within reach of every addict in the world that is struggling with substance abuse, eating disorders, and behavioral problems. Teen Challenge personnel will be on site to answer questions. Sponsored by:

RELAY FOR LIFE-
Friday May 4th

The Relay For Life event to benefit The American Cancer Society will be held at the Phenix City Elementary School Track & Field which is located at 2307 South Railroad Street. The Survivor Reception will begin at 6:00 p.m. until 6:45 with the Opening Ceremony and main event starting at 7:00 p.m. and ending at 7:00 a.m. Area businesses, schools, churches and civic organizations will be set up to sell food and crafts and provide a variety of activities throughout the night and people walk their Relay Miles round a track at the park. This event is a great way to spend an evening with family and friends while helping fight cancer.


PARADE- Celebrate Greatness KENDRICK HIGH SCHOOL LADY CHEROKEES BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Saturday May 3 at 10:00 a.m.
Come help celebrate their victory with this parade of cars, floats, trailers, fire engines and motorcycles. Come early to find the best viewing spot along the route that begins at The Dillingham Street bridge in Phenix City, passes down Broad Street turning right onto the 13th street bridge into Columbus and down Broadway to 9th street. Go Lady Cherokees!


SENIOR DAY AT THE CENTRAL ACTIVITIES CENTER
Friday May 9   10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Come visit the Central Activities Center located at 1500 14TH Street in Phenix City. Guests will have an opportunity to visit the various activity  rooms which were formerly classrooms of the Central High School. For the past twenty years, this beautiful historic building has been repurposed for our senior citizens to enjoy. They will have food, dance demonstrations, crafts for sale and live entertainment featuring The Chattahoochee Woodshedders. This is an excellent opportunity to become a member if you would like to join in on the fun. The cost is only $10.00 per year which covers daily activities. DR.COOPER’S 3rd ANNUAL CAR/TRUCK/ MOTORCYCLE CRUISE IN
Garrett- Harrison Stadium Parking Lot on Saturday May 17, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. est.
This annual car show is fast becoming a community favorite with an entry fee of only $15.00 per entry before May 1 and $20.00 per vehicle after May 1. You’ll see food vendors on site and live entertainment by The Incredible Boneheads. Proceeds benefit the Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence Rape Crisis Center Response for The CRISIS CENTER OF RUSSELL COUNTY.

SENIOR GOLF CART TOUR OF THE RIVER WALK-
Wednesday    May 21   9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

As part of National Senior Citizens month, we are hosting a HEALTH FAIR AND GOLF CART TOUR OF THE RIVER WALK. Various health related vendors and organizations will be there to provide information, some health screenings, give away fun door prizes and have a morning of fun together. Live music will be provided by Denny Grimes of The Chattahoochee Valley Southern Gospel Music Association. He will sing some gospel music and allow our seniors and chance to sing along. GOLF CARTS will be available to take seniors on a tour of the river walk and give them an opportunity to see The White Water Rafting course, and the beautiful natural setting of The Chattahoochee River. PHENIX CITY PARKS AND RECREATION SUMMER CAMPS-
MAY 27-August 1, 2014

Now taking applications for Half Day Camps at The C-Club Recreation Center located at 1500 15th Ave. and Spencer Recreation located at 400 8th Avenue.
Children must be between the ages of 6 – 14 to attend.  Cost is $75.00 per child which includes: Camp T-Shirt, Field Trips, Games, Sports and daily fun. Registration began March. Register at the center of your choice and bring your child’s birth certificate. A minimum of 10% is due at registration and is a first come first serve basis. Her down to earth rapport with her fans is very endearing and she is still just as glamorous as always.

SHA NA NA
at The Phenix City Amphitheater!

What is a Sha Na Na? A Rockin and Rollin  Doo Woppin Band full of fun!!! They began performing in 1969 and became famous after performing at the Woodstock Festival. Their 90 second appearance in the film brought them national attention and sparked a 1950’s craze which led to the Broadway Musical GREASE and the t.v .show Happy Days. The group appeared in the movie GREASE as Johnny Casino and The Gamblers. Then they hosted a variety series that ran from 1977 to 1981 and performed with the world’s greatest rock legends such as Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Bo Didley, The Ronettes and Chubby Checker.
The concert will feature 1950’s and 60’s Rock N’ Roll along with hysterical skits, colorful costumes and be truly entertaining! Don’t miss this chance to see them live at The Phenix City Amphitheater located at 508 Dillingham Street.
