Herbal Tea Workshop Added to Fall Lineup at Callaway Gardens

PINE MOUNTAIN, GA (10/03/2014) – Learn about herbs from horticultural therapist Chanchal Cabrera as she presents “Healing and Pleasure Teas from the Garden,” on Saturday, November 8, 2014.

Cabrera will share some of her favorite tea recipes and discuss ways to make pleasure and healing teas. Participants also will learn about growing and drying herbs, blending teas for morning energy or for deeper sleep at night, as well as blending teas for better memory or better digestion.

Bring a lunch or pick up something from the nearby Discovery Café and then taste a variety of tea blends and discover the top 10 plants to grow for teas.

Cabrera is a certified Master Gardener and Horticulture Therapist as well as a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (UK).  She lives on Vancouver Island, British Columbia where she and her husband run Gardens without Borders, a seven-acre botanic garden specializing in food and medicine plants. They grow food for 20 households, culinary herbs for restaurants, and medicinal herbs for her clinic.  They also run therapy gardens for people with disabilities and host internships in organic farming and herbal medicine.

The workshop fee is $35 per person and includes admission to Callaway Gardens, an $18 value.
