Celebrate the 2014 Fourth of July Weekend at Callaway Gardens’ Star Spangled Beach Party

Sun, Fun, Circus, Music, Fireworks and More

PINE MOUNTAIN, GA (6/23/14) - Callaway Gardens is eagerly anticipating the Fourth of July!  Come join us for a great day filled with a ton of fun in the sun and a spectacular fireworks show.  Bring the entire family and enjoy a myriad of beach activities throughout the weekend.

Friday will feature a variety of activities and events to entertain all ages.   Guests of all ages are sure to be thrilled by the acrobatics of the Florida State University Flying High Circus as they perform at 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. The Callaway Gardens Farmers Market will have holiday hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  During the day, DJ Mickey J will entertain beachgoers from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; a performance by Secret Sauce at 5 p.m.; dancing to the classic beach music of the Swinging’ Medallions, part of Callaway Gardens’ Independence Day tradition and fun for all ages, will begin at 7:30 p.m.  The anticipated patriotic fireworks finale will shoot off at approximately 9:30 p.m. (weather permitting).

Saturday night will be packed with live entertainment.  At 5 p.m., Wicked Dixie kicks off followed by The Regulars.  Another thrilling FSU Flying High Circus performance will be in the big tent at the special time of 7:45 p.m. to make sure everyone is out watching the sky for the dusk jump by the On Target Pyrotechnic Skydiving Team (weather permitting).

In addition, Robin Lake Beach offers guests a number of activities for a fee including Aqua Island, paddle boats, bumper boats, waterskiing, tubing, wakeboarding and lessons, rock climbing wall, spider jump, the Xcelerator four-story inflatable water slide and a flying trapeze.  A limited number of beach umbrellas with chairs are available for rent as well as semi-private cabanas overlooking Robin Lake Beach.  And, not to be overlooked, are the traditional Robin Lake Beach games of miniature golf, table tennis, shuffleboard, and giant chess and checkers.

A special highlight will be the return of the Train to Callaway Gardens.  This version of the Chickadee Choo Choo will be trackless in the Robin Lake Beach area.  Rides will be $5 per person between Noon and 6 p.m. Be sure to take a ride on the train and spread the word that the Train is back.

At some time during a visit, guests should check out TreeTop Adventure, a course in the tree canopy featuring a combination of aerial challenges and zip lines.  Located adjacent to the Callaway Discovery Center, the Discovery Course is $35 per person. Those feeling up to the challenge can add the more extreme Lake Course for only $15 per person. For both of these courses, guests must be 54” tall.  New for the smaller guests 36” to 60”, the Sapling Course is just $15.  Reservations and closed-toe shoes are required.  Visit www.callawaygardens.com/treetop or call 1-800-CALLAWAY (800-225-5292).
