Wedding Wonderland for Brides-to-Be

National Infantry Museum Shows Off Wedding Venues in Unique Way

Columbus, Georgia – February 12, 2015: The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center will get all dressed up for the Bride-to-Be Celebration Sunday, February 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. While a typical wedding show is held in a convention hall with brochure-covered tables, the Bride-to-Be Celebration will allow couples to see, feel, hear and taste all the things wedding vendors can offer.

Each space in the museum that is available for wedding or reception rentals will be turned into a wedding wonderland. Local wedding planners will be responsible for setting up and decorating their assigned space with their favorite flowers, cakes, photos and décor. The goal is to make it easier for brides-to-be to see just how easily their dreams can come to life.

Bride and groom models will stroll from room to room, and will end the evening with a New Orleans-style second line wedding parade that attendees will be encouraged to join. A wedding artist will be on hand, and musicians and DJs will provide the soundtrack. A Cinderella-style horse-and-carriage will await the wedding party outside. Food and drink samples reflecting the “Seasons of Love” theme include a southern grits bar, a s’mores station, pot roast sliders, chocolate mousse shooters and white wine sangria.

There is no admission fee to attend the Bride-to-Be Celebration! Door prizes will be awarded, and one lucky couple will receive the Grand Prize of a Diamond Wedding Package worth almost $5,000. The package includes an evening wedding in the rotunda or museum lobby, a reception in the grand hall, plus $500 to put toward catering. Other prizes include gift certificates from various vendors, a candy buffet for your reception and fur-trimmed gloves and scarf.
