Columbus, Georgia – April 21, 2016: The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center is collecting boots to be used as part of a Memorial Day weekend display.
Military boots of any size, style, age, and condition are being accepted. They can be left in drop boxes in the museum lobby during regular hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The goal is to place a set of boots and a name tag for each of the 294 service members killed during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. The display commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Gulf War.
