Historic Columbus’ 50th Anniversary Golden Jubilee

Columbus, GA--November 3, 2016:  Pull out your formal attire and get ready to meet one of the top journalists of our time, Tom Brokaw.  Golden Jubilee Co-Chairmen Dexter Jordan and Mint Flowers, along with their committee, have put together an incredible night to celebrate the culmination of the 50th Anniversary of Historic Columbus.

Historic Columbus is excited to end this year of events with the Golden Jubilee.   The event will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Iron Works - the Columbus Convention and Trade Center.

The Golden Jubilee will not only be a fundraiser for Historic Columbus, but also an important night to showcase the importance of preservation in our community.  Imagine what our city would look like without Historic Columbus pushing, many times behind the scenes, to save what makes us special.

From a beautiful Patrons Party where guests can meet the featured speaker to a breathtaking dinner event, this will be a night to remember.  The Patrons Party will be held in the Dining Gallery from 5:45pm-7:15pm. The Reception will be begin at 6:30pm in the South Hall followed by dinner at 7:30pm.

In 1998, Brokaw published his first book, The Greatest Generation, one of the most popular non-fiction books of the 20th century. This will be the topic for the evening.

The press will be allowed to video, photograph, record the first 3 minutes of Tom Brokaw’s speech and then will be escorted out. There will be no interviews with Mr. Brokaw. We hope that you will attend.  For any questions about the event or the organization, please contact Callie Hecht at Historic Columbus – callie@historiccolumbus.com or 706-322-0756.
