Georgia Officials Prepare for Commemorative Ceremony Honoring FDR

 

WHAT: Roosevelt’s Little White House State Historic Site will host a tribute to President Franklin D. Roosevelt on the sixty-ninth anniversary of his death.  The annual Commemorative Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2014.  The event includes music from the Fort Benning Infantry Center Band and a U.S. Marine Color Guard.  This year’s keynote speaker will be Nina Roosevelt Gibson, granddaughter of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt.  This historic site is offering free admission until Noon.  

The ceremony will begin at 11 A.M., EST, Saturday, April 12, 2014.  Roosevelt historian Brian Roslund will be available for interviews with the media on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. 

Roosevelt’s Little White House is operated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
