Spend This Weekend in Columbus at the “Way Down Film Festival”

Are you a film lover? Want to meet filmmakers and hear about how films are made? Columbus is host to the Way Down Film Festival this weekend, October 21-22, at the Springer Opera House. This is the first of its kind film festival to be held in Columbus, and because of that, it promises to be a revolutionary weekend for the arts in the South.

The Way Down Film Festival “was founded on the principle to support the blooming, underground arts; to enhance awareness through exciting short films that shed light on the periphery, express triumph over tragedy, and allow audiences…feeling inspired and connected.”

The aspirations of conference organizers are far from small, as they want to help contribute to the growing film scene in Columbus. As Georgia itself becomes a center for film making, Columbus is leveraging its artistic and dramatic history to be a part of that larger story.

This weekend festival promises to be one of the most interesting weekends of the year with creative, artistic, talented people putting forward their offerings. Go all out and make plans to stay the whole weekend, visit other Columbus attractions, eat some amazing food, and experience the Way Down Film Festival!
