New Junior Women's Course Record Set at The 57th Masters Tournament

Pine Mountain, GA (May 27, 2016) – The 57th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament® presented by GM Marine Engine Technology officially kicked off today with the 24th Junior Masters competition behind the Ski Nautique 200 and Super Air Nautique G23 at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA just southwest of Atlanta. The world’s best junior waterski and wakeboard athletes took the water with perfect conditions that saw record-breaking results.

The PCM, GM Marine Engine Technology powered Ski Nautique 200 pulled fourteen-year-old Neilly Ross (CAN) to her second Masters Junior Women’s Tricks win breaking her previous course record with a score of 9,920 points. Brooke Baldwin (USA) finished second with a score of 8,320 points and Paige Rini (CAN) took third. In the Junior Men’s Trick final, France’s Lindsay Bordier placed first with 8,960 points, followed by Danylo Filchenko (UKR) and Leo Anguenot (FRA).

Brooke Baldwin claimed her second Junior Masters Slalom title tying the course record with 4@38-off in the final round run off with Paige Rini placing second and Jaimiee Bull (CAN) in third. The Junior Men’s Slalom final went to Ryan Canepa (USA) running 2.5@38-off to win the title, followed by Robert Hazelwood (GBR) in second and Jakob Bogne (SWE) in third.

In Junior Women’s Jump, great conditions along with the legendary Ski Nautique 200 pull saw Dominique Grondin-Allard (CAN) take the title jumping 142 feet (43.2m) followed by Valentina Gonzalez (CHI) in second and Brooke Baldwin in third. Leo Anguenot went huge in the Junior Men’s Jump final going 179 feet (54.6m) for the win followed by Felix Blomqvist (SWE) in second and Danylo Filchenko in third.

Competing in all three events and scoring consistently earned Brooke Baldwin her third Junior Masters Women’s Overall title with a score of 3,000 points and Leo Anguenot took home the Junior Masters Men’s Overall title with a score of 2,842.1 points.

The award-winning Super Air Nautique G23 wake turned dreams into reality as it does every year on Robin Lake during the Junior Men’s Wakeboarding semifinal. James Loisel (USA), Mac Schramm (USA), and Jason Soven (USA) all went huge with technical runs that earned them a spot in the final of the most prestigious event in watersports. The pressure was on in the final round forcing each rider to put together their best run. James Loisel was a man on a mission with a stand up pass that included his signature cuffed toeside-backside 720 for his first ever Masters win!
