Columbus Symphony Orchestra Proudly Presents Brahms & Bruckner

COLUMBUS, GA, March 7, 2016 - The Columbus Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is pleased to present Brahms & Bruckner on Saturday, March 19, 2016. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. attend Know the Score, a pre-concert conversation with Music Director and Conductor George Del Gobbo, about the music being performed during the concert in the Studio Theatre. Then attend a concert that brings together two brilliant composer and makes for a night of riveting music.

CSO Music Director and Conductor George Del Gobbo commented, “Johannes Brahms and Anton Bruckner were contemporaries, and both took much of their inspiration from the late works of Beethoven.  Brahms was more conservative, using traditional forms and harmonies. Bruckner was more radical in terms of harmonic language and expansion of formal structures.  They were

different in many other ways, but both composers created monumental works which explored the depths of the human soul.”
