Academy Dance Center is excited to announce OPEN AUDITIONS for its upcoming Holiday Dance Production, ‘Babes In Toyland!’ Be a part of the Academy’s newest production and DANCE in this Holiday Classic on the RiverCenter Stage!

Auditions will take place Saturday, August 19 at 4300 Warm Springs Road in Columbus for dancers age 6 and up. ALL local area dancers and students interested in dance, performing, and acting are invited to attend and participate. 

Casting will take place for all Character Roles and Ensemble Dance Placement in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Musical Theatre. No experience is necessary in all dance styles.

Performances of ‘Babes In Toyland’ are scheduled for December 16 and 17 at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts.

Audition Date & Times:

Saturday – August 19

Ages 6 – 11;   9:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

Ages 12 & up; 11:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Who can Audition:

All Local/Community area children & teens ages 6 and older.

Participants do not have to be students of Academy Dance Center.

What To Expect & Wear:

Dancers participating in the audition will be viewed by age groups and placed according to the roles/costumes available. Choreographers will show a few steps from the appropriate dance(s) for each age group, and then have dancers show the steps in small groups.

No prepared work is needed for the audition.

Please wear your normal dance class attire or “easy to move in clothes” and bring the corresponding dance shoes to audition with. 

Participants will be notified of casting decisions by email within the week following their

audition and should be prepared for rehearsals starting Saturday, August 26.
