The Columbus Film Fund is an incentive grant to provide funding to compensate producers for the additional per diem, housing and transportation costs associated with bringing crew to Columbus.
Production must begin principal photography within 180 days of application. Any changes to start date must be submitted for approval to the attention of the Columbus Film Commission Program Director and Accounting Firm immediately or certification will be revoked.
Applications submitted MORE THAN 180 DAYS prior to start of principal photography WILL NOT BE CERTIFIED.
Production must meet with the Commission and spend a minimum two days of scouting before applying.
Productions must have spoken with Peter Bowden, President and CEO or a qualified person within the Commission.
An applicant can qualify only once per year unless a negotiated (2) two or more packaged film deal is agreed to in advance or the budgets collectively exceed $15 million. An applicant is defined as the company actually entitled to receive the grant with any common ownership, corporate officers or other verifiable affiliation. Work-for-hire companies are not eligible for the grant.
Proof of final project budget and funding must be submitted along with this application in order for the application to be considered complete. Final project budget shall be defined as: (a) the amount that is approved by the relevant completion bond company; or (b) the budget that is demonstrably approved and funded by the financiers.
