Columbus State University’s College of the Arts is authorized to offer the Georgia Film Academy’s on-set film production certificate program.

The on-set film training courses were designed by Hollywood “insiders” and prepares students to enter Georgia’s multi-billion dollar film industry workforce after two semesters. Upon completion of the certificate coursework students receive assistance from the Georgia Film Academy in securing their first job.

Course Details

The On-Set Film Production Certificate is offered through the College’s Department of Communication and consists of two courses totaling 18 hours of academic credit. The first is a 6-hour pre-requisite course which is an introduction to the skills necessary for employment in the film/TV industry. A second course is 12 hours of highly specialized training and hands-on experience which provides the student with a basic level of on-set film production skills, knowledge of the film industry’s standard organizational structure, professional equipment and on-set procedures.

CSU has a team of enrollment professionals designated to work with students who have questions about the program, the enrollment process, and registering for classes. This team walks students through the whole process and coordinates the enrollment experience so it is as easy as possible!
