Beginning at 11:00 a.m. President and Mrs. Carter will share with the audience their personal experiences pertaining to the Camp David Accords. The program will take place in the auditorium of Plains High School located at 300 North Bond Street, Plains, Georgia 31780.

CSU Wind Ensemble

This concerts features a collaboration with Alexander Kobrin, The L. Rexford Whiddon Distinguished Chair in Piano, performing one of the great works of the 20th Century, the Concerto for Piano and Wind Instruments by Igor Stravinsky. It also features three of our talented trombone students in Derek Bourgeois’s Concerto for Three Trombones. Rounding out the program are great works by Dooley and Ives, conducting by graduate conductor Simon Holoweiko. The ensemble is under the director of Jamie L. Nix.

Mardi Gras Jazz Celebration

In celebration of Mardi Gras, the Columbus Public Library will present a special edition of Rhythm & Rhyme will feature a performance by the Schwob Jazz Orchestra. Children will have the opportunity to get up close to real jazz musicians and learn about traditional jazz music. Children will also create their own Mardi Gras mask (while supplies last) and jam out to live jazz with small hand drums. NO SHAME COLUMBUS EVERY FRIDAY at 10:00 P.M. Showcase of short original works (spoken word, monologues, scenes, dance, improv, music, & any thing else.) First 15 acts to sign-up get a 5 minute slot - Sign-up starts at 10.
