If you're in the holiday spirit and are looking for stuff to do this weekend, boy are you in the right place! There is a ton of stuff going on this weekend, so here's a quick rundown of some of the holiday fun you and your family can check out.
Bundle up the kids and come out Friday night's (Dec. 4) 3rd Annual Broadway Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony for caroling from area school and church choirs, live reindeer, the lighting of the big tree & all of Uptown, greetings from the Mayor & Santa, and back this year and bigger than ever…lots of snow flurries! It all takes place in the 1100 block of Broadway from 6:30-8:30pm and there is NO admission!! Santa will even be in the gazebo so that all good girls and boys can sit on his lap and go over their Christmas wish list! For more details on this, call (706) 322.1613.
This is a great time of year to visit Port Columbus because they have it all decorated Victorian-style for the holidays and kids have a chance to visit with and have their pictures made with an 1800’s-style Santa Claus! Wait 'til you see Santa in his red, white and blue outfit! They aren't even charging admission to the Museum this weekend and they'll be open from 10:00am-5:00pm Saturday and Sunday. There will be a professional photographer on hand to take pictures and they'll have photo packages available for a small fee...makes a great Christmas card. Port Columbus is located just off Victory Drive on Lumpkin Blvd...just look for the big ship in their front yard. Want to find out more? Call (706) 327.9798 or www.portcolumbus.org.
